Theory of a Deadman: Hear the ‘Symphonic Acoustic’ Version of ‘Rx (Medicate)’

The guys of Theory of a Deadman are topping the rock charts with their track “Rx (Medicate),” and now, the band has posted the “symphonic acoustic” version of the track.

The new version of the song, which offers an acoustic and orchestral accompaniment, is streaming now via YouTube. You can listen to the song, which takes on a very different character from the original, below. In the symphonic acoustic version, lead vocalist Tyler Connolly’s vocals really come to the forefront and shine, even more than in the original track.

“Rx (Medicate)” is the lead single off the band’s latest album, “Wake Up Call,” which arrived in late October. The song is currently No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart.

“Wake Up Call” is Theory of a Deadman’s follow-up to 2014’s “Savages.” The latter record featured the rock radio hits “Angel” and “Drown,” which are still regulars on rock radio.

Theory of a Deadman — which brings together Connolly, David Brenner (rhythm guitar), Dean Back (bass) and Joey Dandeneau (drums) — is currently on a U.S. tour to promote “Wake Up Call.”
